Is there less child welfare funding for First Nations children?

In 2008, the Canadian Human Rights Comission followed up on this question posed by the I am a Witness campaign by forming a tribunal.

The tribunal was set to resume on Nov. 16. Instead, a group of concerned citizens met up at the First Peoples’ House to protest the fact it has been adjourned until further notice.

These funding inequalities are long-standing and well documented, according to I am a Witness. Their website has an extensive lists of references to back their claims up.

I am a Witness also notes that the inequity they protest is exacerbated by insufficient education, housing and family support services.
