Martlet Concert

The Martlet's first annual benefit concert in support of the Victoria Women's Sexual Assault Centre (VWSAC) was a great success!

Performers Mike Edel, The Virgin Space Cadets and Les Monstres Terribles helped The Martlet earn $728.75 for VWSAC. Thanks!

Did you know...

Last year the VWSAC:
-provided crisis support and counselling to over 1,700 people
-provided criminal justice support to 735 clients -answered over 1,100 calls to their crisis and information line.

Their prevention program for teens, Project Respect, is run entirely off of fundraised dollars. It is estimated only 6% of sexual assaults are reported to the police and an estimated 83% of women with disabilities will be assaulted in their lifetime.
