DUMP AND RUN
Director-at-Large Kenya Rogers announced that a team of Community Leaders (CLs) and other volunteers will be organizing a “Dump and Run” for the Food Bank. Those wishing to donate food to UVic students in need can come to the Arbutus Room in Cadboro Commons on April 13, 14, and 15.
SSD EVENT
Society for Students with a Disability (SSD) Representative Heather Mitchell announced that the SSD and the UVic Human Rights Volunteer Program are hosting an event focusing on positive self-expression through painting, multimedia, and other forms of art. The artwork will be intended to raise awareness of issues surrounding race, class, gender, sexuality, and ability. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 27 in the Michele Pujol Room.
BAREFOOT FAIR
Chairperson Kayleigh Erickson announced another event set for Friday, March 27. ResLife and the UVic Campus Planning and Sustainability Office is organizing a Barefoot Fair, in which students can teach other students how to make their own detergent and soap using more sustainable ingredients than those found in store-bought products. The fair will also have live music, inspirational speakers, free food, and eco-friendly prizes. The event will be held by the Petch Fountain from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
The next UVSS board meeting will be held April 6 in the SUB Upper Lounge.
