Whether you like your costume cosmetics to be spritely and sweet (like our Aqua Pixie) or handsomely spooky (like our Classic Dracula), we’ve got something for every “body” to try out.
Keep in mind that the looks featured here are only a small sample of the multitude that you could create using these templates. To that end, feel free to use these step-by-steps as a jumping-off point for your makeup masterpiece. Swap certain colours in and out or add and subtract steps to get your desired results. The items used on our models can be found at your nearest drugstore, costume shop, or haunted house.

Golden Goddess How-To

- Apply your foundation and concealer, and fill in your brows with shades that match your skin tone and hair colour.
- Swipe a layer of eyeshadow primer onto your lids.
- Take a medium warm beige eyeshadow and apply it all over your lids and outer brow area with a small eyeshadow brush.
- Using the same brush, apply a brighter champagne eyeshadow to the inner third of the lid and your browbone. Blend the two shades so that no harsh lines are visible.
- Take a deep molten gold eyeshadow and a medium-sized eyeshadow brush and apply it to the outer half of your eyelid and your upper lash line for definition.
- Use a shimmery bronze eyeshadow to define the crease section of your eyelid and feel free to smudge some into your lower lash line. Extra sultry!
- Line your upper and lower waterlines (the little line of skin between your eyelashes and actual eyeball) with waterproof black or dark brown eyeliner.
- Blend these shades really well so that they create a smooth colour gradient.
- Add two to three coats of mascara to your lashes (or add a pair of falsies if you’re feeling brave).
- Brighten your cheeks with a golden-coral blush, cream, or powder formula.
- Set your face with translucent powder to keep your colours looking fresh and to stop migration/smudging. Gently blend some of that molten gold eyeshadow on the tops of your cheekbones to really make them standout.
- Add a flashy gold-shimmered or bronzed lipstick to your pout using a lip brush for precision.
Classic Dracula How-To

- Using a sponge or foundation brush, apply a light layer of face paint or foundation that is three to four shades lighter than your natural skin tone all over your face and blend it down towards your neck.
- Apply a very thin layer of white or translucent setting powder over top.
- Fill in your eyebrows with black brow powder or a brow pencil, and don’t be afraid to really exaggerate their natural shape. In this case, bigger really is better!
- Apply a thin layer of eyeshadow primer and then sweep a charcoal or black shadow all over your eyelid.
- Add a purple/mauve eyeshadow to your under-eye area, creating sheer, dark circles.
- Take black eyeliner and use it to thickly rim your upper and lower lash lines. Do your waterlines as well for extra drama.
- Sculpt your cheeks with a little of that charcoal eyeshadow under your cheekbones. Use an angled blush-brush for precision.
- Pop in your fake fangs and make sure they feel comfortable.
- Using whichever type of fake blood you prefer (store-bought tube or homemade batch), place large drops near the corners of your mouth and let them drip towards your neck. Smear these drips as much as desired and then wait a couple of minutes for your masterpiece to dry. Less really is more here because it can get pretty messy!
Aqua Pixie How-To

- Apply your foundation and concealer, and fill-in your brows with shades that match your skin tone and hair colour.
- Swipe a layer of eyeshadow primer on to your lids.
- Take a light sky-blue shadow and gently pat it into the inner corners of your eyelids. Sweep it under the lashline as well, staying close to the inner corner.
- Using the same brush apply a brighter cobalt blue eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Blend the two blue shades so that no harsh lines exist. Add a little of this colour to the middle of your lower lash line.
- Take a deep navy eyeshadow and blend it into the outer corner and crease areas of your eyelid. Sweep it onto your lower lashline and have it meet and blend with the cobalt shade. Blend well!
- Add a shimmering iridescent opal eyeshadow on your browbones to highlight.
- Line your upper lash lines with a glittering black liner and wing out the line just slightly.
- Take a firm, medium eyeshadow brush and carefully pat a thin layer of light blue or opalescent white shimmer (or glitter, which is chunkier) over top of your eyeshadow and liner. This will make everything sparkle delightfully!
- Bring the shimmer or glitter up into your eyebrows and pat it there, too.
- Put on fluttery false lashes or add two to three coats of mascara to your own lashes.
- Brighten your cheeks with a light pink blush, cream or powder formula. Add some of that loose glitter to your cheekbones to make them shine.
- Add a sparkling opalescent or blue-tinted gloss to your pout.
