The Martlet spoke with Jeremy Randall about “Kick the Plastic,” his UVic student-based environmental awareness project. It’s meant to demonstrate how much plastic (specifically one-time-use plastic) students use on a regular basis. The idea behind “Kick the Plastic” is to find out out how much plastic students accumulate over a semester. The project started with the members keeping the plastic they used in a two-week period. The gathered plastic serves as a constant reminder to limit their use of plastic throughout the challenge.
