UVic’s 10-bay transit exchange expansion is scheduled for completion on Sept. 2. The new transit exchange will be replacing metered parking, cyclist parking, and parking for people with disabilities on the north side of the Student Union Building.
Director of Campus Planning and Sustainability Neil Connelly is working closely with B.C. Transit and the campus planning committee.
“They’re pulling things together this week. There may be some landscaping incidentals to finalize, but B.C. Transit is looking to utilize it Tuesday,” he said.
Victoria’s good weather has ensured a speedy construction throughout the summer months.
B.C. Transit is also expected to send out ambassadors on Tuesday to provide information on the new transit exchange, he said.
The new September rider’s guide will be fully updated with the new bus routes. All information regarding transit times and routes can be found on the B.C. Transit website.
