UVic’s 10-bay transit exchange expansion is now operational. The new transit exchange, which opened on Sept. 2, replaced metered parking, cyclist parking, and parking for people with disabilities on the north side of the Student Union Building.
Director of Campus Planning and Sustainability Neil Connelly is working closely with B.C. Transit and the campus planning committee during the final stages of completion.
“The push was on” to get it completed, he said. B.C. Transit worked to “pull things together” in the last week of construction. After finalizing landscaping details, the exchange opened to traffic on Tuesday.
The new September rider’s guide is fully updated with the new bus routes. All information regarding transit times and routes can be found on the B.C. Transit website, transitbc.com.
