With the start of another school year, many students will be back to eating lots of pizza, KD, and ramen noodles, but ordering pizza all the time can get costly. Here’s a way to save money by using the ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen. It’s quick and easy, plus you can put all the toppings you want on it without getting charged extra. It makes two pizzas, takes 20 minutes to prep and 15 to bake.
Ingredients
1 package of active dry yeast (8 g)
¼ cup lukewarm water
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
1 cup boiling water
3 cups flour
Instructions
Soften yeast in lukewarm water and let stand for 10 minutes. Combine sugar, oil, salt, and boiling water in a large bowl and stir until dissolved. Let it cool slightly (it’ll be ready when the yeast has dissolved). Add the dissolved yeast. Beat in half the flour. Add remaining flour gradually to make a soft dough which leaves the sides of bowl. Round up into a ball and knead lightly for about 3 minutes. Divide in two and knead each ball until smooth and elastic. Shape each ball into a flattened circle (or any shape you want your pizza in). Spread with fingers into 2 lightly oiled pans. Let rise for 15 minutes at room temperature (use this time to preheat the oven, grate cheese, and cut toppings). Preheat oven to 450°F. Add desired sauce, cheese and toppings to pizzas. Bake 15 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese has melted.
