Mount Douglas Park is located in Gordon Head and is easily accessible by car (Shelbourne St. to the parking lot on Churchill Drive) or by the 39 bus.
Mount Douglas Park is large and contains many kilometres of hiking trails as well as beach access. There are multiple well-marked hiking trails visitors can choose from that will either loop around the base of the hill, lead up to the summit, or to the beach. From the parking lot, one can reach the summit of the mountain in as little as 15 minutes.
For those who like a longer hike, you can choose between several different trails and walk for as long as you please. From the summit there are clear views of Gordon Head, downtown Victoria, and the Ogden Point cruise ship terminal, as well as views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and West Shore communities. This park is a local gem that offers a retreat into nature within the city limits.
