OPEN MIC INVITATION
Victoria Writers’ Society sends an open invitation to writers and listeners for five evenings in March. Musicians and small groups are welcome, as a microphone system is supplied. Bring in poems, stories, novels, or songs to share with others. Feel free to observe, perform, and connect with local writers and artists.

WORDSTHAW PREQUEL EVENT 2015
The Malahat Review presents its final WordsThaw prequel event featuring three B.C. poets. The Poetry Salon features Kayla Czaga, Beth Kope, and Garth Martens reading their latest poetry works in the basement of Russell Books. After the reading, you will have a chance to talk to each poet about whatever strikes your fancy!

NAOMI PUNK, PC WORSHIP, & LINE TRAPS
New experiences await you at Logan’s Pub with Naomi Punk, PC Worship, and Line Traps. Naomi Punk kicked off their EU, U.K., and U.S. Tour in Olympia, WA where the group resides. PC Worship (PC being a catalyst for ambiguity) is a band, solo project, and collective fusing a contemporary relationship with punk. This show is sponsored by Animal Production and CFUV 101.9 FM.

CRAIGDARROCH CASTLE IN SONG
Join the UVic School of Music students at Craigdarroch Castle as they perform songs connecting with the castle’s history on two different evenings. The concert takes place in the upstairs ballroom with an original piano from the turn of the century. The program includes music by Noel Coward, Henry Purcell, traditional Chinese and Persian songs, and much more.

BYE BYE BIRDIE: A MUSICAL
Glenlyon Norfolk Senior School brings a classic back to life complete with bobby socks, poodle skirts, and pompadours. The romantic comedy is set in America during the draft and is loosely inspired by Elvis Presley being drafted into the United States Army.

THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD
This choose-your-own-ending theatre production follows famous writer Charles Dickens’ unfinished final works. The intricate plot follows a brooding but brilliant music teacher who obsesses over a young betrothed Rosa Bud. Rosa’s fiancé Edwin Drood is swallowed up by a colourful cast of characters.

ONE WORLD: A PEARSON COLLEGE’S COLLABORATIVE SHOWCASE
160 people from 80 different countries bring in songs, stories, and dances from around the world to Victoria’s doorstep. Pearson College UWC is one of 14 United World Colleges open to 160 students across the globe, including each territory and province in Canada. The students work closely together for two years on a campus in Metchosin, and One World is their creative extension of unity. Support a great cause and learn about other cultures and your own.
