RUSHING TOWARDS GOLD
A new gold rush exhibit will be opening at the Royal B.C. Museum, and archivist Ann ten Cate gives a behind-the-scenes look at its production. This is a big project with curatorial, exhibit, and design staff coming together to create an informative and fun production. Get a sneak peek of what to expect at the new exhibit during this lecture.

BC AFRO-LATIN RHYTHMS AND DANCE FESTIVAL
The BC Afro-Latin Rhythms & Dance Festival is a four-day marathon mixing music, dance, showcases, and galas. The festival offers the best in the world of African and Latin dance with genres like Afrobeat, samba, dance hall, salsa, and more.

DOPE SODA, THE LEG UP PROGRAM, AND BOOMSHACK
The BC Ska Society presents a night full of reggae, ska, hip hop, and funk. If you’re in the mood to shake your body, this is the music for you. The Leg Up Program is a local 15-piece funk and hip-hop band complete with a full horn section. Dope Soda hails from Nanaimo with roots in the Vancouver Island University Jazz Department. This is one local show you shouldn’t miss.

ANDREA GIBSON AND HOLLY MIRANDA
Andrea Gibson is well-known for speaking her truth. Gibson is the first winner of the Women’s World Poetry Slam and has engaged in performances from coast to coast. Gibson is working on her fifth full-length album, Flower Boy, and second book called The Madness Vase.

CELEBRATE ST. PADDY’S DAY WITH THE PARTY ON HIGH STREET
The Party On High Street and the Van Isle Breakers, both Vancouver Island bands, hit Lacey-Lou Tapas Lounge for a festive, fun-filled evening. The Party On High Street will be playing acoustic along with electric sets, with funkified blues carrying them through the evening.

The annual SPARK Festival features new ideas, plays, and free events for theatre enthusiasts. SPARK Festival features plays from across the country, unlike other programming created and rehearsed at the Belfry Theatre. Free events include six 10-minute plays from Victoria’s own artists.
