Cinecenta will play Triangle of Sadness, Empire of Light, and Top Gun: Maverick at select times before March 12
With the Oscars around the corner, you’re probably scrambling to watch as many nominated films as possible. If you’re tired of streaming on your laptop or TV, head to Cincenta , where you can see three of this year’s nominees before the ceremony: Triangle of Sadness, Empire of Light, and Top Gun: Maverick.
Triangle of Sadness
When a male model and his influencer girlfriend take a luxury cruise, they’re thrown into a world of money and privilege. The result: a humorous analysis of power structures.
Funny from the opening scene to the end credits, Triangle of Sadness boasts a cast of interesting characters, including the cruise’s drunken captain (Woody Harrelson), a Russian oligarch who made his fortune selling fertiliser (Zlatko Buric), and a British arms manufacturer (Oliver Ford Davies). The film burns slowly and includes many satisfying surprises throughout.
Triangle of Sadness is nominated for three Oscars: writing (original screenplay), directing, and best picture.
Playing March 4 at 3:30 and 6:20 p.m.

Empire of Light
When a middle-aged white woman working at a movie theatre begins a romantic relationship with a young black ticket attendant, her life turns upside down, resulting in a dramatic exploration of race, age, and mental illness in England in the early ’80s.
With powerful performances from Olivia Colman and Micheal Ward, Empire of Light slowly reveals the characters’ weaknesses and dreams, while tastefully addressing social issues. The film also showcases beautiful work from cinematographer Robert Deakins, who won Oscars for 1917 and Blade Runner 2049.
Empire of Light is nominated for an Oscar in cinematography.
Playing March 5 at 2:40, 5:00, and 7:20 p.m., and on March 6 at 5:00 and 7:20 p.m.

Top Gun: Maverick
When the U.S. Navy orders Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) to train a group of young pilots for a dangerous mission, he must push his students to their limits while confronting his troubled past.
With stunning action sequences, visuals, and editing, Top Gun: Maverick is a satisfying follow-up to the original Top Gun film (1986). The sequel delivers an edge-of-your seat climax that will have you biting your nails and a satisfying denouement that tidily wraps up the story while complementing the original film. This is a big screen movie, and that’s where you’ll want to see it.
Top Gun: Maverick is nominated for six Oscars: film editing, music (original song), sound, visual effects, writing (adapted screenplay), and best picture.
Playing March 10 at 6:30 p.m. and March 11 at 3:45 and 6:30 p.m.
